Welcome to Winterbourne Earls Church of England Primary School
Thank you for visiting our website and we hope that by reading these pages you will gain a snapshot of our friendly village school that we are all proud to be a part of.
We are a busy school with lots going on, rooted in Christian values with close links with the parish church and an important part of the local community. With approximately 190 children on roll, we have seven classes with one class per year group. A lot of our families come from within the Winterbournes but also from surrounding villages and, subject to places being available, we welcome children from further afield including Forces Families.
Our aim is to provide a happy learning environment where children thrive. The positive mental health and wellbeing of our whole school community is paramount and we support this through developing the very best relationships both with staff and pupils. Our new relationships charter, based on the message, 'Be Ready, Be Respectful and Be Kind' is becoming embedded and reflects how we want everyone to be valued. We also recognise through our vision statement that each one has a part to play in building and sustaining such a welcoming, inclusive ethos. All Year 6 children have a leadership role within school but, when asked, they will say their role as Reception Buddies has to be one of the highlights!
Although the academic journey is key, we also value the wider opportunities that we can offer in areas such as sport, art and music. The key pastoral support contributes to having well-rounded, caring and happy children who leave us confident and excited about the next adventure in education.
In 2022 we celebrated the 150th birthday of Winterbourne Earls School. Past teachers, governors and proud pupils were all welcomed back, keen to share their successes following secure foundations built at our primary school.
This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing up-to-date information for parents, pupils and the wider community. Please contact the office via email if you have any queries or we are more than happy to chat on the telephone. I look forward to meeting you personally and showing you round our lovely rural site. The Year 6 children are always excited to show visitors round, so we usually offer a joint visit!
