‘As each one does their part, we grow in love’

Music Lessons

At Winterbourne Earls Primary School, our musical offer is outstanding. Children will always say they love to sing enthusiastically in Worship and our Praise Worship weekly session is enjoyed by all. The engagement and high standard of singing has meant that we are regularly asked to perform in our own village church, in St Thomas' Christmas Tree Festival and we were invited to lead singing in the cathedral as part of the Old Students College of Sarum St Michael's annual reunion service. Choir is on offer to all KS2 children after school on a Mondays and this year we are looking forward to travelling to the O2 in London to join a massed choir of 8000 children as part of Young Voices.

We are able to offer a wide range of musical opportunities:

In Reception Class children participate in 'Start the Music', a programme of musical activities for the whole class, led by an external music professional.

Children in Year 3 all have the opportunity during the year to learn an instrument. In previous years it has been the violin and recorder but this year we are thrilled to be offering JSax- a junior version of the saxophone.

Children can take part in individual/small group music tuition during the school day on the following instruments:

Strings (Violin, Cello, Viola): KS2 children- Led by Mrs Jane Parsons

Brass (Trombone, Trumpet, French Horn): KS2 children-Led by Mr Matthew Hind

Guitar: Led by Mr Nick Parks

Piano: Led by Mrs Sarah Sainsbury

Woodwind (Flute and clarinet): KS2 children-Led by Mrs Rachel Maguire

We are still trying to source a drum teacher as this instrument was very popular!
