Our new learning for the Summer 2 term begins with asking ourselves the question, 'Is all change good?' As we start to think about our next journey into Year 1 in September, we will be focusing on changes in our own lives, changes to our bodies and how we move from one place to the next. Our exciting trip to the River with our Year 6 Buddies will conclude our time with them at Winterbourne School and acts as a celebration of our friendships and in wishing them well on their next stages of their educational journey.
Oak Class have had a fantastic term, learning from our Enquiry Question, ‘Do all living things need the same to survive?’ We have watched the development of our Tadpoles…and watched…and watched…who knew they took so long to develop back legs! We are currently watching our caterpillars grow (much more rapid) and recording their growth in simple measurements and pictures.
Plant growth was explored through simple cress growing experiments where we looked at simple science enquiry skills such as fair tests and controls.
The warm and sunny weather has seen Oak Class able to make the most of our outdoor space and the children have loved using the Bikes and Trikes as well as honing our sketching and observational skills through our tree and plant art work.
Miss Adlam (Year 1 Student Teaching from Winchester University) ends her practice with us this week and we wish her well with her studies and future placements.
