‘As each one does their part, we grow in love’

Science

In our Forces topic, we conducted two experiments - one to test air resistance, constructing 3 different sized parachutes and timing how long they took to hit the floor, and the other tested water resistance. Whilst planning both experiments, we identified the different variables in each and used this to conduct fair tests (keeping in mind the possibility of anomalies!)

We ventured down to Winchester Science Centre and learned all about the planets in our Solar System through an experience in the Planetarium. Did you know it rains diamonds on Neptune?? After exploring the exhibitions, we were lucky enough to take part in a 'Destination Space' workshop where we were able to investigate the light spectrum, which colour absorbs the most heat and also embarked on a lazor mission using reflection to guide light where we wanted it to go!

This term, our unit is on 'Forces'. Today, we experimented with some Force Meters to measure the amount of force applied to various everyday objects!
