Maths Parents Engagement Project 

Thank you to those parents who were able to attend our second workshop of the year last week.  87% attendance was amazing but equally we understand that work commitments can mean that engagement can be difficult for some.  To this end, the notes from this meeting can be found by following the link below.  The accompanying homework will be sent out each Wednesday until the end of this term along with a homework diary and an explanation sheet of the tasks.  We hope you enjoy engaging with your children's maths learning.

End of first term in Oak Class

It has been an absolutely super first term with your children!  It has been wonderful to get to know all their little characters and what makes them tick.  They are all extremely happy day to day and we couldn't have wished for a better start to their schooling...I hope you agree!

Here are some highlights from this term.  I hope you enjoy looking through this snapshot.

Wellie Walks will be commencing on a Monday afternoon from Week 2 (November 6th).  Thank you to all those who have volunteered to help.  We almost have more adults than children so I will get in touch with all our volunteers in order to choose 4/5 for each week.  Watch this space!

Please practice the letter sounds as identified in your child's reading record book. These are the sounds that your child wasn't confident with in our first Little Wandle assessment.  It's important that any gaps are closed early to ensure early intervention at the point of need.  Thank you in anticipation for your support. 

Phonics and Early Reading Parents Workshop

Please come along to our first Parent Workshop of the Year.

Tuesday 3rd October 2.45pm in the Reception Classroom.  One adult per household please due to limited space.

Oak Classroom and the Outside Area are all set up and ready for your children!  We are all very excited to be welcoming our new Oak Class to Winterbourne School.  We hope they are as excited as we are.  The first day will be a staggered start to allow us to greet your children individually.  The days that follow will be a 8.50-9am start to the day.  Please be aware that although we pick up your children's names fairly quickly (usually within the first day), it may take a little longer to match your faces with those of your children's.  Please wave frantically at pick up times to allow us to continue to learn who everyone is.

The photographs below show the classroom and the different areas ready for day one!  I promise it will look very different after an hour of the school day starting!
