Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Supporting Every Child at Winterbourne Earls School

At Winterbourne Earls School, we believe every child is special and deserves the chance to thrive. We understand that children grow and learn in different ways, and some may need extra help to reach their full potential. If a child finds learning more difficult than others their age, even with good teaching and support, they may have what’s called a special educational need (SEN).

We’re here to make sure those children get the support they need—whether that means adapting lessons, offering additional resources, or working closely with families and specialists. Our goal is to create a learning environment where every child feels safe, valued, and able to succeed.

Inspired by the Bible verse “As each one does their part, we grow in love” (Ephesians 4:16), we build strong relationships across our school community. We care deeply about each child’s emotional well-being and mental health, and we work together—staff, families, and pupils—to celebrate every child’s unique strengths.

At Winterbourne Earls, we grow as a family. We believe we are stronger together, and we’re committed to helping every child feel confident, included, and ready to shine.
